Budget transfers are required to comply with Arizona State Statute and budget law and are necessary for continuance of city operations. An Arizona city or town may not revise its adopted budget to increase total expenditures, but it is permitted to revise the budget as necessary by transferring appropriation authority between budget items, if certain conditions are met. ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 16-1755 AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL USER FEE SCHEDULE ADOPTED BY RESOLUTION NO. 10-1357 BY ADDING STREET CLOSURE FEES THAT WERE LISTED IN ORDINANCE NO. 2000-698, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. PURPOSE: The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation provides grants to public safety organizations. With approval of the grant funds we will purchase fire prevention education materials. Since 1994 the Community Risk Reduction Division has taught life and fire safety in the community. 16-5886 17.3 ContractFY2016-2017 STREET PRESERVATION PROJECTS RECOMMENDATION: Approve a budgeted expenditure not to exceed $3,072,000 to complete pavement management projects in various locations throughout the city. PURPOSE: Approval of this expenditure allows the city to enter into a contracts for micro surfacing, low volume cape seal, slurry seal, and Hot in Place Recycling in accordance with the city’s procurement code. By approving this project, the pavement of city roadways will be preserved primarily with lower cost pavement preservation treatments and prolong the need for extensive rehabilitation or reconstruction.
