PURPOSE:
Entering into a multi-city intergovernmental agreement for a semi-annual household hazardous waste (HHW) disposal event would promote fiscal responsibility, protect the integrity of the city’s sewer system and groundwater, display regional unity in the Southwest Valley, and promote environmental awareness and education in our residents. RECOMMENDATION:
ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 15-1720 APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF GOODYEAR AND THE CITY OF LITCHFIELD PARK FOR FIRE PROTECTION AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
PURPOSE:
Since June 2010, the City of Goodyear has provided fire, emergency medical, and fire prevention services to the City of Litchfield Park. Litchfield Park desires to have a minor language change under the fire code enforcement paragraph. Litchfield Park would like the option of adopting versus required to adopt Goodyear’s local amendments. Litchfield Park provided some examples of requirements that are not desirable for their City. Including: adopting the International Property Maintenance Code; nor zoning regulations that would allow for 5 or more story buildings, or an underground building or structure of 10,000 square feet or more; lastly building underneath or abutti | APPROVED | Pass |
