RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the issuance of a two-year lease with three additional, optional, one-year terms for the AZ Pro Trac BMX Park located south of MC85 and west of Estrella Parkway, subject to AZ Pro Trac, an Arizona corporation, providing the City with a current Certificate of Good Standing issued by the Arizona Corporation Commission.
PURPOSE:
The approximate 8-acre site southwest of MC85 and Estrella Parkway, adjacent to the Roscoe Dog Park, has been leased from the City as a BMX (non-motorized bicycle) track since May of 2004. The current lease agreement with AZ Pro Trac, Inc., an Arizona corporation “Lessee”, expires on January 31, 2014. The City has negotiated a new two-year lease agreement with three additional, optional, one-year terms. RECOMMENDATION:
ADOPT RESOLUTION 14-1596 AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF SURPRISE FOR COST SHARING, AND THE HIRING OF A CONSULTANT FOR DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF AN EDUCATIONAL CAMPAIGN ON THE NEED FOR AND BENEFIT OF NEW ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TOOLS.
PURPOSE:
The City of Goodyear wishes to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement for the cost sharing, and the hiring of a consultant for development and implementation of an educational campaign necessary to educate and inform cities, public associations, private groups, opinion leaders and elected officials on the need for and benefit of new economic development tools critical to rebuilding Arizona’s economy at the municipal level, (the Project). The key deliverable of the campaign will be to develop a strong base of political support for successful passage of future legislation of the Project.
