RECOMMENDATION:
ADOPT RESOLUTION 13-1566 AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT ONE OF AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF ARIZONA FOR COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD CROSSING AT LITCHFIELD ROAD.
PURPOSE:
Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) funding was awarded for improvements to the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) crossing at Litchfield Road, just north of MC 85. These improvements include new southbound cantilevered flashing lights over the middle lane and upgrades to the five existing gates with LED signal heads. In addition, as part of this project the existing timber railroad crossing at Litchfield Road was replaced with a precast concrete crossing. The surface work on this project has been completed, and the signal work remains to be completed. The purpose of this amendment to the IGA is to identify funding responsibility due to the cost of the surface improvements exceeding the cost estimate. RECOMMENDATION:
Approve and authorize the City Manager to execute a Reimbursement Agreement for Special Public Improvement Cost Recovery Regional Wastewater Trunk Lines with Taylor Morrison/Arizona, Inc., an Arizona corporation, providing for the reimbursement of costs incurred to construct certain of the Special Public Improvements identified in Cost Recovery Resolution of Intention No. 06-1065 and authorizing the City Manager or his designee to take all actions and to execute all documents necessary to carry out the intent of the agreement.
PURPOSE:
The purpose of this item is to approve an agreement with Taylor Morrison/Arizona, Inc. (formerly Taylor Woodrow/Arizona, Inc.) (“Taylor Morrison”) that will provide for the reimbursement of the costs Taylor Morrison incurred in constructing certain wastewater trunk lines in the West Goodyear Central Planning Area.
