APPROVAL TO CONSTRUCT A TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT ELLIOT ROAD AND SAN GABRIEL DRIVE

RECOMMENDATION:

1.                     Authorize the expenditure of previously appropriated funds for the construction of a traffic signal at Elliot Road and San Gabriel Drive in an amount not to exceed $500,000.

 

2.                     Accept the dedication of public utility easements from KDCNC, LLC, an Arizona limited liability corporation and Estrella Community Association, an Arizona non-profit corporation for a traffic signal to be placed at the intersection of Elliot Road and San Gabriel Drive.  

 

PURPOSE:

Approval of this expenditure allows the City to enter into contract with AJP Electric for the installation and acceptance of the dedications of the public utility easements allowed for the construction of the traffic signal at Elliot Road and San Gabriel Drive.  A traffic signal is anticipated to be warranted with the addition of traffic from the Taco Bell that is currently under construction and scheduled to open in November or December.  This project is budgeted in FY 15-16 of the City’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP) as CIP Project Number ST1607.
