TITLE

I-10 AND SR303 INTERCHANGE PHASE 2 CITY MAINTAINED FACILITIES AND INTERCHANGE AESTHETICS UPDATE

RECOMMENDATION:

1.                     ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 15-1709 AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT (JPA 15-0005376-I) WITH THE STATE OF ARIZONA, ACTING BY AND THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO ESTABLISH RESPONSIBILITY FOR FUNDING, INSTALLATION, OPERATION, AND MAINTENANCE RESPONSIBILITIES FOR CITY MAINTAINED FACILITIES TO BE CONSTRUCTED WITH THE I-10 AND LOOP 303 SYSTEM TRAFFIC INTERCHANGE PHASE 2 IN THE CITY OF GOODYEAR.

 

2.                     Direct staff regarding incorporation of an additional accent color to SR303 interchange at Van Buren Street.

 

PURPOSE:

This Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) establishes responsibilities for funding, installation, operation, and maintenance of City maintained facilities to be constructed by the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) during the construction of the I-10 and SR303 System Traffic Interchange Phase 2. Additionally, Council will be updated on the planned aesthetics for I-10 and SR303 System Traffic Interchange at Van Buren and request Council’s direction on an additional accent color.
