TITLE
AMENDMENT OF INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR INSTALLATION OF CONDUIT, CABLE AND OTHER EQUIPMENT ALONG VAN BUREN STREET
RECOMMENDATION:
Execute Amendment One of Intergovernmental Agreement (JPA 14-0004967) with the State of Arizona, acting by and through its Department of Transportation, to establish responsibility for funding, purchasing, installation and maintenance responsibilities of fiber optic conduit, cable and equipment along Van Buren Street from Estrella Parkway to Cotton Lane in the City of Goodyear.
body
PURPOSE:
This project will install fiber optic conduit, fiber optic cable and ITS equipment along Van Buren Street from Estrella Parkway to Cotton Lane in the City of Goodyear utilizing Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) funding.  It is included in the Maricopa Association of Governments' (MAG) Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) as a project to help mitigate air quality issues within the MAG Region.  Once completed City staff will be able to monitor traffic, adjust traffic signal timings and coordinate traffic signals along this corridor from a central location.  With this amendment to the original IGA, the scope of the project and amount of Federal funding does not change, but the City's match reduces by $205,579.
