City Council will consider for possible action authorizing the City Manager to execute a Letter of Intent with BASIS Schools, Inc., for the sale of 11 acres of land located approximately at the intersection of West Sherman Street and West Goodyear Boulevard North for the construction of a Kindergarten through 12th Grade campus.

RECOMMENDATION:
Approve Letter of Intent to purchase an 11 acre parcel at the intersection of West Sherman Street and West Goodyear Boulevard North, Goodyear, Arizona.
PURPOSE:
BASIS (BSI) schools prepare students according to the highest, most rigorous international standards. BSI is a 501(c)3 corporation that holds the charters for all Arizona BASIS schools. The schools have been ranked consistently among the best schools in the United States, and the world. This proposal is intended to offer for sale 11 acres of City-owned property at the intersection of West Sherman Street and West Goodyear Boulevard North to BSI for the development of a charter school in Goodyear.
