TITLE
AUTOMATIC AID AGREEMENT RENEWAL
RECOMMENDATION:
ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 14-1663 APPROVING THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT (IGA) BETWEEN THE CITIES, TOWNS, FIRE DISTRICTS AND GOVERNMENTAL JURISDICTIONS TO PROVIDE FOR AUTOMATIC ASSISTANCE FOR FIRES AND OTHER TYPES OF EMERGENCY INCIDENTS; AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE IGA.
body
PURPOSE:
In 2011 there was an effort by the Central Arizona Life Safety Council to reword the IGA to include staffing language which is reflective of how departments operate.  More specifically the new IGA states "system participants recognize the importance of service delivery and personnel safety issues".  The other significant document changes are the financial impacts for agencies that are not compliant with the response requirements of the Automatic Aid Agreement.  Otherwise, there are no other significant wording changes in the updated IGA.
