ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY GANG & IMMIGRATION INTELLIGENCE TEAM ENFORCEMENT MISSION (G.I.I.T.E.M.)
RECOMMENDATION:
ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 14-1652 AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF GOODYEAR AND THE ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE GANG INTELLIGENCE TEAM ENFORCEMENT MISSION (G.I.I.T.E.M.), STATE GANG TASK FORCE.

PURPOSE:
This council action, if approved, would renew the IGA with the DPS to continue the Goodyear Police Department's participation with the G.I.I.T.E.M. task force. In exchange for the City assigning an officer to participate with G.I.I.T.E.M., the City will be reimbursed 75% of the assigned Goodyear Police Officer's payroll expenses and eight hours per month for task force related overtime for the officer.
